I agree that the name “governor” is EXTREMELY dumb, but it is there for a good reason - the NBA realized that calling a, on average, white male that rules over a group of mostly black athletes “the owner” is a poor choice. Governor is a pretty dumb word to replace it with imo, but it was necessary.
