From a florists perspective, I think it’s also a show of wealth. Big, beautiful blossoms are WAYYY expensive, so when people want to go cheaper, they do a more organic arch with wispy greenery and scattered blooms. When people want to show that they have money, especially on something that lasts for ONE DAY, they just ask for the most expensive install. Packed full of identical white garden roses.

Ok but is it only the straight athlete weddings that look like this? Or do the gay ones too? Now I kind of want to investigate that lol

My husband coaches high school football (runningbacks). I went to the coaches & wives party at the beginning of the season and remarked on how good looking the ND coach is and one of the coaches lectured me(!) about disrespecting my husband(!) by commenting on his looks and my husband just said nah I get it. 😂

What you have shown cannot be unseen! (Although, I'm giving a pass to the library wedding arch because it followed the lines of a real arch, and it was on such a huge scale it looked very impressive. All the other arches look puny and try-hard by comparison.)

Wait- did Draya have a baby with the 22 yr old boyfriend who is the same age as her son?!?!? O_o

It should be noted that Colorado University athletics does not have a baseball team! This is for their *club* team- they belong to the NCBA (National Club Baseball Association) not the NCAA.

HAVE to assume the previous CU baseball coach got Thanos-snapped, and that's why the graphic looks like that.

Oh man, I love this kind of niche investigation. Unfortunately I think it comes down to the fact that a lot of pro athletes have tons of money and not a lot of taste (Travis Kelce, #1 perpetrator). They don't really have time to cultivate it, so just ape what their teammates do/what wedding planners say is cool (and looks good on their websites/results in giant floral fees)

I asked my sons about this. They said this is really more of an indictment on the brides. Apparently, this has been a very trendy look in sororities for the last 5+ years.

Yep, young people with lots of money tend to rely on stylists. They haven't had time to curate their individual preferences.

Because they’re all young new money would be my guess.

If they are all using the same coordinator, they are likely using the florist or a few florists with the same aesthetic. I would expect that the coordinator is telling her clients "this is the way" and they believe it.

The subheader “an investigation” on the silliest of topics will always make me laugh and then click. After the investigation, we need a working group.
